Track Name: Days of Light
the pressing issue of time. is it worth it and how long will it take? with a negative state of mind approaching doors with hesitance. looking back i've seen the error in our ways. using anger as a crutch to waste through many days. stand up fight back, depression eats at you like a plague. the difference is this time, we won't let it decide our fate. the desecration of one’s spirit can be perfect reason for change. when you realize you've gone too far and everything needs to stop. further down along your path the deserts will have seen many rains. continue forth, no looking back, and you'll see the tides have changed. the ups and downs of all our lives. the words we've said, the times we've tried. we can never take them back, but they've helped form our true path. the desecration of one’s spirit can be the perfect reason for change. when you realize you've come so far and there's no choice but to go. i've faced these struggles, i've ran this race, i've been down the same roads, live the same way. it's in these moments, that we hide, and one day well all emerge to see the light. and I hope our days of light will come soon.
Track Name: Life of Fiction
young man getting older by the minute. struggle harder getting closer to my limit. living wage? act your age but i still remain timid. giving up a life is never what i envisioned. black and white, wrong or right, the way you treat a human life. scared of the future, revert to my past. running faster losing traction in these tracks. live a life of labor, world’s on my back. live a life of fiction you sell as fact. live a life of fiction you sell as fact. and i'm not buying it.
Track Name: Time Got Lost
i've seen addiction drag its claws through the skin leaving many scars. if i use time to decide then yours was too short. it was your choice that cut into mine. time after time, time after time. but in the end, it's all just wasted time. never just yours, never just mine. i never measured you in the standard way. i always knew you held so much more, but as i sit and write this today, indecision leaving me abhorred. it was your choice that cut into mine, time after time, time after time. but in the end it's all just wasted time, never just yours, never just mine.
Track Name: Paid For Hate
a job is a job in this day and age, but one has the rights to take your rights away. to serve and protect or hurt and neglect, supposed to keep us safe but strike fear in our hearts with every move we make. on any given night, walking down the street, they choose to stop by and sweep you off your feet. your face meets the ground, your jaw cracks in two, but that's what "resisting arrest" gets you. another high school jock becomes a cop. ready to smash your face for gender or race. no matter what you do, they’ll pin something on you, there's no escape from irrational hate. you run and you run but you cannot win. their final say the laws with them. you cannot reach for freedom of speech when the ones in charge won't let you speak. there's no time for wishful thinking in this state of social unrest. with bullets flying people are dying, live in the hands of a badge and vest. you have no say in when you walk away and if you do you're “lucky". one infringement of what they said can leave you staggering or dead.
Track Name: Never Lose The Feeling
the war wages on, from time to time i feel withdrawn. the feeling this has given me will never truly be gone. i’ve watched them all move along. fallen friends to the latest trends, but it's one thing that i've kept when they were all long gone. never moving on, never giving in. to walk away, to forget this all. you've known all along this is where you belong. months turn to years, future full of fear. not knowing what to do, but one thing still reigns true. never moving on, never giving in. i will never give in.
Track Name: Searching For More
i watch my breath as it escapes. another moment that i've lost. the vapor fills the air. the haze puts me in a glow in the street lights that lead me home, alone. is this growing up? is this where we dreamed we'd be? nothing seems to satisfy. nothing seems to illuminate. from week to weakness. nothing seems to satisfy. nothing seems to satisfy our lives.
Track Name: The Pledge
with every passing year, one thought engrained in my mind. never changing, never losing, my edge on the world outside. you grow and you change and friends fade away, but the ones who remain through every passing fad meant what they said so many years ago when we realized what we needed to feel alive. it's not what you said, but what you truly meant, and what you meant means fucking nothing when you chose to turn your back on what meant. to mold and change, to form a better day, a solid pact means so much when growing up with nothing. with every passing year, one thought engrained in my mind. never changing, never losing, my edge on the world outside. you grow and change and friends fade away but the ones that remain through every passing fad, meant what they said so many years ago when we realized what we needed to feel alive. but one day you’ll come to find the knife stuck in your spine was put there by yourself, a false sense of betrayal. these may not have been words to live by for anyone else, and you're lucky at such a young age you discovered yourself. these struggles define us, my heart aches for lost friends, for lost time. stomp through life over burned bridges, in the end truly i've lost. but the one thing that stuck with me through all this time; a positive outlet engrained in the back of my mind. straight edge. i hope you've found you way through this hell called life. maybe, one day, we’ll get back all we said. until then an open letter to an old friend.
Track Name: Inherent Greed
presser, pressure, a strain coming down you can't live without. your needs, such greed, what made you feel this was compulsory? removed, withdrawn, consuming it all until it comes undone. you take, it breaks, another stands up to take your place. tied together though you may not see, a sense of depletion an inherent greed. we two as one, it started just as fun, but with it weighing you down, let’s hope you come around. i hope it will subside; it won't fill how empty you are inside.
Track Name: The Almighty Dollar
this monetary gift giving momentary pleasure, and to what end? from a young age, we are taught money is everything, to set the path through their looking glass. if only we had the money then we’d truly be happy. what if happiness depends on our life choice? how do you change the tide when the almighty dollar is the beauty in the eye of the beholder. i can't believe we've been tricked for so long to fear the future, to fear a fucking dollar. i can't believe people are struggling on their knees, because the world shows us to live beyond our means. how do you change the tide when the almighty dollar is the beauty in the eye of the beholder. live outside their box. spend using your own thoughts. what do you truly need? evade their poison greed. if money’s all you see stay the fuck away from me.
Track Name: Displaced
when does the human cost become too high for a better machine? your father’s father dreamed of the day the machine would take the pain away, but did he ever feel he could be replaced, displaced and led astray? did he know his son’s son would struggle to make a life? confused and overwhelmed, forced too early to choose what’s right. pressure builds inside, choose to run and hide, but now he’s seen what’s better for him. wake another day, turn the other way, face to face with reality. too many lives being lived on the streets to not ask the question when does the human cost become too high for a better machine?
Track Name: Their Class War
the answer is now. the homeless are starving, wake to fight another day. the excess in this country is fucking disgusting. we spend money on nothing while lives around us are crumbling, but what good is life if they can't profit off it? their control is getting old when your future is what they hold in the palm of their hand, crushed up like grains of sand. you can't provide a better life, or choose to sleep inside. limitless options in this cold dead winter hell. no future for the lower class and that's how they want it. their control is getting old when your future is what they hold in the palm of their hand, crushed up like grains of sand. the rich stay rich, the poor stay poor in the classic version of their class war.
Track Name: The Restless Ones (No Future)
i sit and build a life in my mind. it’s never easy to construct a dream. the constant thought of pushing work away. the task of survival day to day and i’m not ready for the suit and tie days. this desperation’s still burning, forever moving, we are the restless ones. the repetitive struggle of a life this way, burning down the dreamers disease. i've tried and tried to plan out my days, but it seems there's no chosen road for me. this desperation’s still burning, forever moving, we are the restless ones. until we find a better way, continue roaming till our last days. and i’m not ready for the suit and tie daze. a structured life built by the ones that profit the most. this desperation's still burning, forever moving, we are the restless ones.
